Leading by Example

Brooks A. Keel, PhD was appointed as president of Augusta University on July 8, 2015.

Guided by his vision the university has expanded its academic offerings and campus infrastructure through the founding of a new school, the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, as well as the creation of the . The university has also expanded campus housing by opening its first on-campus undergraduate and graduate , increased undergraduate enrollment by more than 22 percent, and developed a comprehensive plan to relocate the university’s to a new facility on the Health Sciences Campus under Keel’s leadership. The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University has received approval from its accrediting body, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, to officially begin the process of redesigning its four-year core MD curriculum to three years.

A record-breaking 1,084 full-time freshmen have enrolled at AU, making this the sixth consecutive year the university has experienced an uptick in freshman enrollment.
